Compare Elevate A/B Testing vs Convert.com
Convert is built for broad experimentation across websites and technical teams. Elevate A/B Testing is built specifically for Shopify, with dedicated workflows for price, shipping, theme, product image and checkout tests, plus ecommerce-focused statistical controls. Where Elevate A/B Testing wins
No visitor quota.
Convert ships with over-quota charges switched off, so when the 100K tested-user allowance runs out, your experiments pause (Convert says within about an hour). Turn charges on and Growth adds $399 for the next 100K. Elevate bills on order volume, so a test that gets picked up by a newsletter keeps running and does not produce an invoice.
A third of the entry price.
Convert's floor is $299/month on an annual contract. Elevate's Standard plan, which is where price, shipping and checkout testing live, is $99/month, and Basic starts at $49.
Billed and supported inside Shopify.
Elevate installs from the App Store, reads the store's own data and shows up on your Shopify invoice. Convert has had an App Store listing since October 2024, but the app is a connector that places the tracking tag; you still buy the plan on convert.com, and as of 22 Sep 2026 the listing has no reviews.
Shipping tests on real rates.
Convert runs shipping tests through JavaScript variations and audience rules. On Elevate, shipping testing is a plan feature from Standard up.
Faster setup for a team without an experimentation engineer.
Convert's Pro tier is where server-side testing, feature flags and raw data export live, and those features reward a team that will use them. If you want a price test live today, that stack is more tool than the job needs.
Statistical controls that are built for ecommerce.
You can set the significance threshold, minimum visitors, conversions and running days before Elevate calls a winner. You can also cap unusually large orders without removing the conversion and exclude free gifts from revenue, AOV and profit calculations, so Shopify-specific edge cases do not distort the result. Convert has statistical and outlier settings too; Elevate makes the controls directly relevant to the commerce data behind the decision.
Where Convert wins
-
Compliance paperwork. Convert lists GDPR, CCPA, LGPD and TTDSG compliance, SOC 2 and ISO 27001, and runs on first-party cookies without storing personal data. It gives 8% of every plan fee to tree planting with TIST and publishes a policy on the businesses it will not work with. If your legal team reviews vendors, most of that folder is already written.
-
Works beyond Shopify. Convert has been running on 40,000 sites over 15 years, and every plan includes 90+ integrations, an API and an MCP server. If your experiments span several properties, that reach matters.
