Landing page conversion rate
The share of sessions on a landing page that complete the one action the page was built for, such as a purchase or an add-to-cart.
Grade a landing page on the job it does in the funnel. For a product page fed by paid traffic, that job is often getting the visitor into the cart, so add-to-cart rate is the honest metric. The checkout has to close the sale.
The formula is conversions divided by total sessions on the page, multiplied by 100. A page with 12,000 sessions and 384 orders converts at 3.2%. Analytics tools count sessions, while Elevate test reports count each visitor once, so compare numbers from the same source. More in what is a landing page conversion.
